Aubrey Lynch Extra Essential Arts Moving Fast

Thirty-three Aubrey Lynch Essential Arts Performance Ensemble members inspired audiences January 31 at the White Plains Youth Bureau 10th Anniversary Dance Benefit. Rehearsals were crazy and for a moment we thought we bit off more than we could chew. In other words, the final run through was a mess. As the saying goes, a horrible final rehearsal means a great performance. I was not thrilled having to put that one to the test. However we do know that if you push a child, expect that they will succeed, they almost always rise to the occasion. I put complete faith in my students and every one went far an beyond what I expected. What a thrill!

Aubrey Lynch Extra Essential Arts ALEEArts
Bringing communities together through the arts

ALEEArts is a community based arts organization that inspires young people through the arts to:

  1. Become more productive citizens
  2. Succeed academically
  3. Self-express

ALEEArts creates programs that:

  1. Provide strategic partnerships which enable once in a lifetime performance opportunities and collaborations with well-known artists
  2. Give One-on-One career guidance and mentorship to students looking to pursue careers in the arts
  3. Go into schools to capture students’ initial interest in the arts early on and ignite new passion towards their academics and potential professional arts careers
  4. Lengthen year-round arts exposure through summer arts camps, intensives and workshops
  5. Unique coaching for young professionals and pre-professionals with high-level industry experts

ALEEArts Artistic Director and Founder Aubrey Lynch II believes that the arts are not extra-curricular; they are extra-essential. As a former dancer with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, former Associate Producer of Disney’s The Lion King Broadway musical, and current Director of Dance at Harlem School of the Arts, Aubrey has experienced first hand the life-changing power of the arts, and the unique way it provides lessons necessary for success in every day life. Arts bring families and communities together and help tear down walls of ignorance. ALEEArts is committed to ensuring that every child from every community gets the opportunity to engage in the transformative experience of the arts, thus impacting their commitment and motivation towards academic success and achievement. The success of your child is the success of the world community.

Most recently ALEEArts and its core group of young performers, Mr. Aubrey’s Show Kids collaborated with Wynton Marsalis, Jazz at Lincoln Center and Harlem Children’s Zone. Writer, director, choreographer, and visionary Aubrey Lynch brought together nearly 100 students, ages 6-17 from nearly twenty academic and arts organizations across New York City including Steps on Broadway, The Ailey School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. Over 90 young performers from all five boroughs both experienced and inexperienced performed with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by Wynton Marsalis to a packed United Palace Theater of 1500 inspired audience members from the community. An absolutely unforgettable community event.
